OART are celebrating! It is now official that we have received a £871,400 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore the Broadwater Brook back to being an open channel. Working with the Sompting Estate Trust and with further financial support from the Environment Agency, Rampion Offshore Wind Ltd, Sompting Big Local, South Downs National Park and West Sussex County Council this three year project will create public access to a previously inaccessible area of greenspace via a new river walk . There will be hundreds of opportunities for people to get involved in shaping the site as well as learning new skills and investigating the natural heritage of the areas water environment. Thanks to National Lottery Players for making this possible and to everyone who has helped us put this together over the past two years – very exciting times. You can read more about the project on our projects page and by following OART on Facebook.
